We are pleased to say we had a very successful Open Day on May 7th.Our special thanks goes to all those who gave their time and effort to help beforehand and on the day, plus all those who donated plants or produce.
After expenses, the day raised more than £650 for the Association’s funds which will be spent on improving facilities on site.
Our next Open Day and Autumn Festival will be held on September 10th and our competitions this year will be:
BEST PLOT AND BEST NEWCOMER PLOT – if you need notice to spruce up your plot these will be judged during early August. We will look at diversity, plant health, lack of weed, visual appeal, range of crops and many other criteria. For the newcomer plot we will try and make some allowance for the time since you took over the plot.
BEST SUNFLOWER – for children under 12. Please give your name, age and plot number to your area representative or email Robin Hewitt (hewitttrda@btinternet.com) by 15th August.
Competition awards will be made at the AGM on October 8th.
